The Traveler's Nook
Location: Madison, Wisconsin, USA (1.5 Miles to UW Campus and State Capital; 7 Miles to Airport) View Map
Accommodations: Studio, 1 Bath (Sleeps 4)
The Traveler's Nook is just that, a nook from which you can quickly travel to the wedding, football game, business or other event that brings you to Madison. Madison has excellent hotels and motels, but if you want relative calm, quiet and privacy, the nook may be right for you. As the attached photos show, the city skyline is a mile in the distance, but the lake, grill and park are just outside your door.
The Traveler's Nook has a private entrance and is on a separate level from the house. It is a half level down from ground level, so it is not wheelchair accessible. There are two double beds and two twin bed mattresses. For the convenience of providing additional sleeping arrangements, two twin quilted mattresses, fully made-up and comfortable, are stored beneath the double beds and pulled out when needed. The room is spacious with areas for writing, reading or just lounging. You can freshen up or relax in the shower or sauna. The built-in bar has a sink, microwave, under counter refrigerator, coffee maker, dishes etc. to make your stay comfortable. All bed linens, bath towels and sundries are provided, not to mention lake views, and plenty of natural light. When you walk in, if you like, strike a match and light a fire in the fireplace--it will be ready for you.
When coming to Madison, you will find a warm welcome at The Traveler's Nook. Please feel free to call or e-mail with any questions that you may have.
Cat Harbor House
Location: Eagle Harbor, Upper Peninsula, Michigan, USA (Cat Harbor House is 1+ Mile West of Eagle Harbor, MI) View Map
Accommodations: House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 4-6)
Cat Harbor House is a contemporary home right on Lake Superior. It is set on a rocky shore of rugged beauty, a short walk of several hundred feet to Cat Harbor's sandy beach. It is private, in the middle of 300 feet of shoreline, yet with an easy access to the scenic drive that brings you 15 miles north east from Calumet, or 15 miles west from Copper Harbor. A woods separates the house from the highway.
The interior is spacious, light, airy and, of course, kept clean as a whistle. It is fully furnished, so you can spend your time as you wish. The cooking and dining areas are open and convenient. Both bedrooms have large closets. While the living room fireplace provides inner cheer, the living room also provides a perfect view of the sunset. The lake views are immediate and unobstructed.
